Memorial Day fun

I finally have something fun to blog about.  For Memorial Day weekend we had a big adventure.  Actually it was more like a week long, instead of a weekend which is even better.
Thursday morning the kids and I loaded up in the truck with bikes and gear, and headed for St. George, UT, my brother Andy's house.  About 2 hours after we got there, we unloaded all the girls stuff and loaded all of Andy's stuff and his boys, Alec and Nathan, and all the boys headed north - final destination Island Park, ID, by way of Salt Lake that evening.  My two boys, my nephews, Andy, my sister Adriann and her family, and my parents, treked up to the cabin to go fishing for the weekend.  The girls and I got to stay in St. George and play with Jenna and her girls for the weekend.  It was wonderful!!  We had such a ball.  The boys on the other hand, were wet and cold all weekend and didn't catch any fish.  Oh well, I had fun!
So our girls weekend (Friday to Tuesday) was full of fun, good food, and shopping.

The girls on our first day of fun.  front to back, left to right: Tess, Elisabeth, Annie, & Emma

My awesome SIL Jenna.  I could have given her the chance to turn and look at me, but where's the fun in that?

We got and gave pedicures

Played at fun parks

Splashed at a fun splash park

Dug in the sand at the sand dunes.  Note to any St.George visitors, go to the dunes first thing in the morning, the sand gets hot!

3 of our boys have birthdays close together.  Tyson is the end of May, and Nathan and Alec are in June.  So we did a HUGE joint birthday cake, and it was good!!!

Had to add this silly picture and me and Tess.

So our 5 days in St. George were wonderful.  It was relaxing, rejuvinating, and stuffing (I ate too much!)
My 3 extra pounds at the end of trip came courtesy of: Cafe Rio, Cold Stone, Sweet Tooth Fairy, Jimmy Johns, Pizza, Costco churros and smoothies, Gummie Bears, Chocolate shakes, and Birthday Cake.  I think it was well worth it.

You really took some great pics, Grace! Thanks for keeping tabs on all those fun memories, I'll send the ones from the cabin that Andy took with our camera...we all had such a great time, thank you so much for coming and for all the good chats and for finally allowing me to watch North and South and Letters to Juliet, I haven't seen a chic flick in so long. We love you all and we are so thankful you are close enough to see more often, it was seriously a perfect weekend!
