Help I'm Trapped!

Tess started climbing up the stairs and closed the gate behind her. I heard the gate banging but I thought she was on the down side not the up side. The kids thought she looked like a little prisoner. She thought it was funny!!

Cute Tess

Fresh out of the bath, cute and clean. I also took a pictures of her cute tiny naked bottom, but I won't post that one :-)

Can I feed myself yet?

I left Tess' bowl of instant oatmeal a little too close to her highchair when I went to check on the kids.

When I came back, this is what I found. At least I was using a paper bowl and platic spoon that day!!

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!!

Happy Valentines to all!!! And Happy Single Awareness Day to those of you whom I won't name - hee hee hee!! Love You!!
p.s. this is what babies look like when they just wake up from their naps and they have a cold.

Husband trivia

All About My Hubby...

What is his name? Ronald Shane
How long have you been married? 11 1/2 years, and I still love him!! Who knew?!!

How long did you date? We got engaged on our 7 month anniversary and got married on our 13 month anniversary.
How old is he? 34
Who eats more sweets? Definately me. I am the sugar fanatic!

Who said "I love you first?" Ron. He was pretty freaked out to tell me because we had only been dating a month, but don' worry, I said it back!!
Who is taller? Ron
Who can sing better? Ron. He has a beautiful tenor voice, his family can back me up on that. However, he hates to sing in public. I have secretly filmed him singing to the kids at bedtime before, but that is the only proof I have.

Who is smarter? Ron, definately. He has a brain for numbers and anyone who can memorize missile codes and radio frequencies is a genius in my book.
Who does the laundry? Me. Laundry is one of Rons very least favorite things to do. He would rather do almost anything than fold laundry. So I do the laundry and he vacuums for me, although he gets off easy during the deployments - he doesn't have to do any chores and I get to do all of them!

Who pays the bills? Me, but I hate to do them. The only reason I am in charge is so I know how everything works when he is gone. Bills are a chore I would gladly give over to him if I could. Budgets and I do not get along.

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Ron. Although it switches back and forth depending on how the room is arranged. I am on the left right now because that is the side of the room that the cradle fit better on and it is closer to the door for midnight bathroom trips when I was pregnant.

Who mows the lawn? Ron. He loves to work outdoors and do yard work. I HATE IT!! Yet another fun chore I get to do while he is gone. Yippee for me!
Who cooks dinner? Me. I love to cook, but the thought of dishes always puts a damper on my creative drive. So after the last deployment I guilted Ron into agreeing to do all the dishes. That also didn't last long. But I plan on trying it again when he gets home. What do you think honey?

Who drives? When we're together, he does. It doesn't cramp his male ego at all to drive our Toyota Mini Van. Although I do hate having to switch the mirrors back after he drives. And he hates always hitting his knees on the dash board when he gets in the drivers seat.

Who is more stubborn? We both are. But luckily we are rarely stubborn at the same time. When we are, watch out!!
Who kissed who first? Ron kissed me on our 2nd date at the Sand Dunes in Rexburg Idaho during a bon fire with friends.

Who asked who out first? That is a tough one. We just started dating. We hung out every day after class for a week and then one day we held hands and that was it. It was so natural and easy that it just happened. It has been that way ever since.

Who proposed? Ron. There was a Sadie Hawkins dance at Ricks and I asked Ron out in a creative and disgusting way (that story later). To answer me he sent me on a scavenger hunt all over Rexburg to some of our favorite and meaningful places, and at the end of the scavenger hunt I found him at the Botanical Gardens and he proposed!! You also should know that I got my engagement ring from my grandmother ( a family heirloom) and I just handed it to Ron and told him to ask me when he was ready!! Romantic I know, but it actually was!!!

Who has more siblings? Ron, by far. He has 5 biological siblings, and 8 step brothers and sisters.
Who wears the pants? Ron mostly, but we have always made decisions together. We work as a team in almost everything.
Now I'm tagging Kerri Burch and Jenny Eckton Have fun!
Just copy this and post the answers on your blog!!!

Whirlwind weekend

VAUGHAN FAMILY : Macc, Jacque, Dad, Mom, Grace, Andy, & Adriann. This past weekend was a whirlwind adventure. I left New York and flew to San Diego Friday morning because there was a HUGE family event that I wanted to attend. All of my brothers and sisters flew in on Friday as well.

Of course, every time all the family is together we have to take a picture. Here is a picture of my lovely parents. We actually got them both to smile!!

This was the HUGE event. On Saturday, February 9, my grandparents Troy and Shirley Vaughan were Sealed for Time and all Eternity in the Los Angeles Temple. It was a wonderful day that we have waited a long time for. And then I got back on a plane Saturday night and took the red-eye home. Whew!!! But it was well worth it.

Technology is Wonderful!!!

This is how we get to communicate with Ron, about once a week. We each have a web cam so we get to actually see eachother while we talk. It has been such a blessing. The kids get to see and talk to their dad, and Tess gets to see her daddy and hear his voice. Ron also got to see Tess learning to walk. It is so amazing!! Now everytime I am on the computer, Tess wants to get on my lap and wave at the screen - she is always sad when her daddy isn't there.

My first snow blowing adventure!!

You may ask, why did Grace post these pictures? Well I'll tell you why. These pictures are evidence of my hard work. We got a foot of snow last night so this morning I had to pull out the snow blower and use it all by myself for the first time. I am very proud of myself!! I have gotten off easy all winter because my neighbor has been clearing my driveway for me. But he had surgery last week, so now its all up to me. Having a husband gone in the winter really stinks, but I am getting by. Aren't you proud of me!! (your answer should be yes!)

The distraction....

The only way that I can do Tess' hair is to distract her with something. The latest thing I've used is the hair tote. I let her mix up all the baretts and bows, and I get to play with her hair.

Her first braid!! It might be little, but it sure is cute!

My baby is getting so big!

Bedtime Movie Night

Bedtime movie night has become a favorite family tradition. It has just become even better now that our new couch has a sleeper sofa. The kids cuddle up on the bed, turn on a movie and then go to sleep. It has three really great benefits. 1 - it gives me a nice quiet evening without paying for a babysitter. 2 - it is a great sibling bonding activity. 3 - It puts the kids in the perfect spot to watch Saturday morning cartoons, without havng to wake up Tess, so mommy and Tess get to sleep in too!!

Christmas 2007

Happy Winter Everyone!! I am normally alot faster at uploading my pictures, but my Christmas present from Ron was a new camera, so I had to figure it out; it is soooo cool!!! Anyway, here are the pictures from Christmas and a few extras of Tess and the kids. Enjoy!!

Tess' First Birthday

My baby turned 1!!! These are pics from Tess' birthday. We just did a small family party, which was nice and simple. She liked ripping the paper off the presents, and playing with the paper and the boxes. Tyson and Zach were awesome and immediately put together her little walking toy, without using the instructions, and they did it right the first time! They are just like their daddy!! Tess wasn't excited about her cake. She doesn't like anything sweet and she got frustrated by all the frosting; but, I got great chocolate face pictures before she had her meltdown. Isn't she just the cutest!! I also took some pictures of her with her hair done. She will actually sit still for me while I comb her hair now! Train them early that beauty is pain, is what I always say!! Merry Christmas!
