Hailey Update
Yes, I did take Hailey to the vet on Friday. As it turns out she had a severe case of worms, two kinds of worms to be exact. They put her on a double dose of antibiotics (a powder I mix into her food) and she is doing 100% better. After just 1 day of being on the medicine she was eating and drinking again. We are happy to have our healthy girl back. And Ron put our fence back up on Saturday so now she can run and play in the back yard and doesn't have to be on a leash all the time. Now we are working on teaching her to fetch!! Oh, and any tips on training her to stay in our yard without a fence, electric fence, or shock collar? I would love for her to be out and about with us and not run off.

Meet Hailey
Before anyone says anything, let me just say that I know. I know we have a sickness and we are glutten for punishment. The plain truth of the matter is, we love dogs, and I hope that this time we can stick it out. We just adopted Hailey on Saturday. She is absolutely the most perfect dog. She is a two year old black lab. She has lived most of her life in a shelter and was recently rescued by a Foster Dog home here in our area. She is sweet and very mellow. She is already house trained, crate trained, and knows all her commands. Ron and I both started secretly looking at dogs a few months ago. We finally told each other about it and then had a logical discussion about the pros and cons of getting a dog. We decided to not get a dog. Well, I couldn't let it go and I kept looking online at all the local shelters. Then I found Hailey. She seemed too good to be true. So last Wednesday I went and met her, loved her immediately. I forced Ron to go meet her and he fell in love too. We asked the kids if they wanted a dog, and they said "sure". Tess is the one who loves her the most. She tells her to "si" "si" "si" (her version of sit) and to "come on" when she wants her to follow her. Tess loves her and sits next to her all the time and pets her. She has fit perfectly into our family and I am so glad we got her. One small problem is she got sick. Yesterday she had diarhea and blood in her stool and wouldn't eat, and today she ate breakfast but wouldn't touch dinner and then threw up. What should we do? We just got her, I don't want her to be sick!! Anyway, we are thrilled with the new member of our family.
p.s. she has a weird slobber line on her nose in the pictures, she normally doesn't have that
Tess is already doing her part in taking care of Hailey. She is combing her with the My Little Pony brush. She cracks me up!

Sibling Rivalry over BLOG
Emma is experiencing some sibling rivalry with Tess over the BLOG. Ron was reading all my posts the other day and Emma was with him. Ron read her everyone's comments on her concert post- she was VERY excited about them, thank you everyone! Then they read Tess' honeypot post and she noticed that Tess had more comments than she did. This did not make her happy. So in an effort to help Emma feel loved, could a few more people comment on her concert? It would really make her day :) THANK YOU!

Emma's Concert
Emma had her 1st grade concert tonight. This was one of the cuter songs. Emma is in the middle in the cute braids. I apologize for the videography, I was holding the camera up high over everyone's heads to get a clear shot.

Rumbley in my tumbley
Tess found this pot that we got as a wedding present. As soon as she saw it she said "Pooh, honey pot!" She then proceeded to try and find some honey in her new honey pot, just like Pooh. She is so cute!!
Hey, where's the honey?
It has to be in there somewhere?
I bet if I tip it back enough I can get some!!

What is the deal with Facebook?
Okay, you guys need to explain the thrill behind facebook. Yes, I am on it, and yes I have found lots of my friends from my youth, but other than that, what is the big deal? Who really wants to know what I am doing right now? Nobody!! And I don't play games on the computer. So if I don't want to post what I am doing, and I don't want to play games, or tag or kidnap people - what's the hipe? Are you just suppose to write on all of your friends WALLS instead of just emailing them? Seriously folks, I don't get what all the fuss is about.

First Bike Ride
Saturday was the first nice, not rainy day. The temperatures actually reached 50 degrees, we were thrilled. So out came the bikes, and with it came Tess' first bike. Of course she can't peddle yet, which means I get to push her around until she gets bored, but she was really excited.
She wanted to help daddy pump the tires.
And off she goes!!
Zach's 9th Birthday
Zach is a special little boy (sorry, big boy) and his birthday is on the 29th. So when it isn't a Leap Year, we celebrate on the 28th. He chose to have a family party this year, because he could guarantee that he would get the presents that he wanted. He chose a Star Wars theme (big surprise) and we had a great time.
Zach with all his loot. He was very pleased with his presents. His brother and sister also picked very good presents for him that he loved.
No stores do Star Wars cakes - and I looked everywhere! The only thing I could come up with to make the cake more festive was this Darth Vader candle. Anyone want to borrow it?

Fun pictures
I haven't posted pictures for a long time, so I thought I would throw some on. Most are repeats, but I wanted to have a picture for all the kids. And again, none of me, still too much weight to loose - sorry!

AND SO IT BEGINS
Yesterday, Ron officially took command of the Headquarters Company for 1st Brigade. I always love Military ceremonies, and yes I cried. I always cry. It always moves me to see all those men and women in uniform, standing at attention, saluting our flag. The symbolic passing of the company flag from the old commander to the new one. The outgoing commander gave a long speech but Ron kept his very short and sweet. Someone timed it, 1 minute 32 seconds - his men were thrilled!! Then I got to stand in a receiving line next to my hubby and shake a million peoples hands and be introduced to everyone. Someone compared it to a wedding reception receiving line, except I didn't know any of these people so it was a little more awkward. But I was outgoing and friendly and made great small talk. During the ceremony I sat very tall and proud and tried to channel the essence of the perfect military wife. I think I pulled it off fairly well. Ron didn't want me to take any pictures, but there was a photographer there and Ron said he'd get copies of the pictures. So now the new assignment begins; longer hours, and more drama. It will be an adjustment but I know that we'll get through just fine, especially Ron with flying colors. Oh, and I'm not going to be FRG Leader or Co-leader. I will be involved and attend all meetings and coffees, but I just don't have the time to be in charge. I really appreciated every one's advice, it helped a lot. So, wish us luck in this new crazy adventure!!
