True Love Is Sharing Your French Fries

True Love is sharing your french fries. Tonight we took the kids bowling and got McDonald's as a reward for their fantastic report cards. To save a little money we didn't get any meals, just nuggets and burgers and two fries to share. While we were eating the kids pointed out that I was eating daddy's fries - a big no no in this house. I told them that we were all sharing and they were my fries too. I told the kids that sharing fries was very hard for daddy to do and that we should be very proud of daddy for sharing - no kidding! It reminded Ron and I of when we were first married. If we ever got McDonald's (which was only when we were traveling to visit family) when we placed our orders, I would never include french fries in mine. Ron would politely ask if I wanted any and I would say "no thanks I'll just have some of yours", to which he would say, "are you sure you don't want to order any?" and I would repeat the same thing. Finally after a little thought he would say "If you want some fries order your own, I'm not sharing!" This has been pretty consistent over the years, but most recently he has started sharing his fries with me!! I think the main reason is we both are trying to watch our weight and he doesn't want all the calories for himself, but nonetheless he has grown in his ability to share!! This is a new sign of true love in our house, sharing your fries. Do you share yours?

Haha, loved the post, I will have to have Randy read that-- he has a hard time sharing any food with me :) Sounds like Ron, but not just with fries :) Great idea for a true test of love!

We don't have a problem sharing fries, its sharing drinks that's an issue for Shane. He HATES it when I ask for a "sip" of his drink. So now he either purposely fills his cup fuller than he wants in anticipation for me taking some, or just orders something he knows I won't drink. Sneaky sneaky.

I normally share, except when I'm pregnant. I become very teritorial of my food :)

We usually always share fries, honestly I could share anything. Like the comment above, my Shane hates to share a drink though, he says I take way more than a sip. Sometimes he will just get a drink that I don't like.

I don't know, I'm with Ron too, I say get your own fries :) Actually, I also have to serve an extra portion of whatever I get becasue Brigham has this impulse that he HAS to have some of it, no matter if he's hungry or he actually wants any. grrr. :)
Also, a certain woman in our family (who shall remain nameless) is notorious for saying "No, I don't need the calories, I'll just have a bite or two of his" and then she eats all of his when it comes. Those calories count too! :)
