After the storm comes the RAINBOW

We had a big thunderstorm today, the kind that my husband loves. Just as I was putting the kids to bed the boys spotted the rainbow. I grabbed my camera and ran outside (in my pajamas no less) to grab a quick picture of our rainbow. It was still drizzling when I took them, but it was worth it. A perfect beautiful rainbow right over our house. Do Mormons believe in signs or good omens? Or maybe it was just a beautiful "tender mercy" from my loving Father in Heaven, who knows that Sundays are not my best days.

Latest update

I don't have much to report. School is out tomorrow and we are having a huge end of school, hello summer party with all our friends. I am really excited. We're having tons of food, favors, silly string, bouncy house, outdoor movie, and tons of ice cream! We're all looking forward to it.

Other than that, the only news to report is that I get to go to France for 11 days with my sister Jacque and my mom. I leave July 3 and I am sooooo excited!! A cute newleywed couple from church will stay at the house and babysit the kids. I really need to thank my wonderful husband for letting me go, and my great friends for suggesting my wonderful babysitters!! I promise to post so many pictures that you will all feel like you were on the trip with me!! YIPPEE!!

Tattle Tales - Good or Bad?

I have the recurring dilemma of whether or not tattle taleing is a good thing or a bad thing. I understand the concept of being responsible for your own actions and not "ratting" out your friends or siblings. However, parents cannot be everywhere all the time. The extra pairs of eyes and ears come in really handy sometimes.

Case in Point. Today my son Tyson snuck the book that he is currently reading into his scripture case to take with him to church. I assume he did this so he would have something to occupy him during the boring Sacrament Meeting. He claims that he never actually read it during church, but that is not the point. Well, of course I had no idea that he did this until we got home and his little sister Emma squealed on him. So now his book has been taken away, and he has nothing to read (he reads constantly) especially at school when he finished his work early. Now, if his sister had not squealed on him, I never would have known. So again I ask, tattle taleing - good or bad? Please vote!

Military Blues

The past few weeks have been very hard. Lots of complaining and grummpiness towards the military. I almost threw a tantrum screaming "I want my husband back - now!", but I didn't. Well, someone at church gave me this poem and it sums up my feelings at the moment. I thought I would share.

I wear no uniforms, no blues or army greens.
But I am in the Military in the ranks that are rarely seen.
I have no rank upon my shoulders. Salutes I do not give,
but the military world is the place where I live.
I am not in the chain of command orders, I do not get,
but my spouse does this, I can not forget.
I am not the one who fires the weapon, who puts my life on the line,
but my job is just as tough, I am the one that is left behind.
My spouse is a patriot a brave and pride filled one.
And the call to serve this Country the hard job needing done.
Behind the lines I see the things needed to keep this country free.
My spouse makes the sacrifice, but so do our kids and me.
I love the one I married. Soldiering guides our house,
but I stand among the silent ranks known as the military spouse.
